Perhaps one could descrive Isrizal as a collector of leftovers from history. In Singapore where the state's hold on progress is so relentless that there seems to be only one time frame - a peculiar "present" on the verge of the future - Isrizal believes there are still "leftovers" to be found, you just have to hunt for them.

An avid reader, listener of music and moveigoer, Isrizal is constantly taking mental notes, collecting images from films, passages of text and music, which he will often rearrange in his mind, making montages that somehow encapsulate his experience of Singapore
